At the Ordinary Council Meeting held 6 December 2024 the following Ordinary Council meeting dates for 2024 were set, to commence at 5:00pm, in accordance with Regulation 12(1) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996, as per the below schedule:

Unless local public notice is provided to the contrary, all Council meetings are to be held in Council Chambers located at 21 Victoria Street, Mingenew.

An Annual General Meeting of Electors is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 31 January 2024 in the Council Chambers, 21 Victoria Street, Mingenew, commencing at 5:00pm.

The purpose of the meeting and order of business for matters to be discussed at the meeting are firstly, the contents of the 2022/23 Annual Report and then any other general business.

A copy of the Meeting Agenda and 2022/23 Annual Report is available for download by clicking here, from the Shire Administration at 21 Victoria Street, Mingenew, or by emailing governance@mingenew.wa.gov.au.

Questions from Electors are welcome and may be submitted in advance to ensure a timely and accurate response can be provided.

A Special Meeting of Council is to be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, 15 November 2023 in the Council Chambers in accordance with Regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.

The purpose of this meeting will be to consider the following matters:
• conducting the Election for President and Deputy President;
• appointing Committee and community group representatives;
• amending fees and charges for liquid waste disposal; and
• consider tenders for RFT01 2023-24 Mingenew Early Childhood Education Facility – Design and Construct

PUBLIC NOTICE: SPECIAL COUNCIL MEETING

A Special Meeting of Council is to be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, 20 September 2023 in the Council Chambers in accordance with Regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.

The purpose of this meeting will be to consider the following matters:

• Proposed Workforce Accommodation (matter laid on the table 16 Aug)
• Draft Strategic Community Plan and Public Consultation
• Extraordinary Election or Councillor Representation Review
• Nomination of projects for LGRF and RPPP
• Heavy Vehicle Services (HVS) Application
• Settlement Fees – Repurchase of Vacant Land
• Change of Council Meeting Date – December 2023
• Destination WA Series Proposal

The State Government announced this morning its commitment to support the Mingenew Childcare Centre upgrade project, with Lotterywest contributing $500,000.

The Shire has been working tirelessly to ensure early childhood and education care services supports demand now and into the future. Access to this service is vital to the community’s growth and prosperity.

It is expected that a new Childcare facility, built to accommodate up to 24 places.

Funding sources for the project now include:

• Lotterywest Grant $500,000
• Regional Economic Development Scheme Grant $150,000
• Mingenew CRC $150,000
• Shire of Mingenew $150,000
• Community Donations and Fundraising $50,000

Now that the Shire has sufficient funding commitments to proceed, a Request for Tender process will be initiated. council is aiming to have the facility operational by February 2025.

A Special Meeting of Council is to be held at 5:00pm on Wednesday, 19 July 2023 in the Council Chambers in accordance with Regulation 12(3) of the Local Government (Administration) Regulations 1996.

• Resetting the rates instalment dates for 2023/24, adopted 21 June 2023
• Seeking quotes for a Marketing and Communications Strategy
