The Shire of Mingenew has received an application from Hancock Energy in association with their Exploration Drilling Program within Petroleum Licences EP368 & EP426 managed separately under the Petroleum and Geothermal Energy Resources Act 1967.

 

Hancock Energy are seeking to establish mobile workforce accommodation camps at 3 different exploratory drill sites. The camps would house the 8 personnel required in support of a 24 hour exploratory drill program. The mobile drill camps are anticipated to each operate for a period of 90 days.

 

‘Workforce Accommodation’ is listed as a land use that must be advertised for comment in the ‘Rural’ zone and the Shire is inviting comment upon this application.

The application and received submissions will then be presented to the meeting of Council that will be held on 22 July 2026 at the Council Chambers, 21 Victoria Street, Mingenew commencing at 5:00pm and is open to the public should you wish to attend.
