Mingenew Visitors Centre
The Mingenew Visitor Centre, located at 50 Midlands Rd welcomes travellers with friendly local knowledge, visitor information and regional recommendations. Operated by the Mingenew CRC, it’s your first stop for exploring the district.
Mingenew Hill
Right in town, mighty Mingenew Hill is the ideal place for holidaymakers to take a break and view our stunning landscape from high above. Mingenew Hill is perfect for wildflowers, picnics and shutterbugs alike!
Cecil Newton park
Cecil Newton Park is Mingenew’s green heart, conveniently located on Midlands Road between the hotel and bakery. Enjoy lush lawns year-round, BBQ facilities, shady picnic areas, two modern playgrounds installed in 2021, a revamped skate park, basketball hoop and local history displays. Don’t miss the town’s iconic ‘Big Ears’ wheat sculpture.
Mingenew Museum
Like much of the mid-west of WA, Mingenew boasts a rich history. If you are in town, be sure to visit Mingenew’s Historical Museum – open on select days in the peak season (late July to September) or visit our Shire office to borrow the key and have a look inside. Our local history buffs love to share their knowledge of the district’s history.
HEritage Walk
The Mingenew Historical Walk is a self-guided tour that showcases the town’s rich heritage. Along the route, you’ll discover notable landmarks such as the Old Railway Station, St Joseph’s Catholic Church, and the Mingenew Hotel, each offering a glimpse into Mingenew’s early days. Scan the QR codes on the ant signage at each stop to learn more.
Coalseam Conservation PArk
A short drive from Mingenew, Coalseam will blow your mind! Massive riverbank cliffs reveal 250 million years of history and perfectly preserved marine fossils. From a wildflower point of view, Coalseam Conservation Park is a true nirvana.
YandanookA Planisphere
The Yandanooka Planisphere is a large, interactive star chart located at Yandanooka Hall. It’s designed to help visitors identify constellations and stars, making it a great tool for stargazing and astrophotography. The site is RV-friendly, offering free camping for self-contained vehicles for up to 72 hours.
Depot Hill Reserve (Closed)
Unfortunately, a fire over Christmas 2025 razed around 80% of the Depot Hill Reserve. The reserve is currently closed.
