Depot Hill Road Works – Commencing Monday 6 July

Road works will commence on Monday 6 July on Depot Hill Road, between the Mingenew–Mullewa Road intersection and Allanooka Springs Road. The project involves widening the road shoulders over a 15.6 km section and is expected to take approximately four months to complete.

Initial works will include vegetation management, drainage works and road marking.

Traffic management will be in place on working days from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm. Road users can expect one-lane traffic through the active work zone, a 40 km/h speed limit, and possible delays.

Please allow extra travel time, follow all traffic management directions, and drive safely.

All unsealed roads within the Shire of Mingenew are now open.

If you need to travel on unsealed roads, please drive with extreme caution. While roads have reopened, some sections remain very slippery following recent wet weather. Drive to the conditions, reduce your speed, and allow extra time for your journey.

Please also avoid travelling through floodwaters under any circumstances.

Local emergency Management Arrangements

Every local government in WA is required to have a set of plans in place in the event of an emergency as per the Emergency Management Act 2005. These are generally known as Local Emergency Management Arrangements. The Shire’s LEMA has been developed in consultation with the wider community by Shire staff and the Local Emergency Management Committee. This document is reviewed regularly to ensure it remains up to date.
The Mingenew Local Emergency Management Committee and Council adopted the most recent Local Emergency Management Arrangements in March 2021.
