The Restricted Burning Period within the Shire of Mingenew has been extended from 15 March to 29 March 2026.

Permits are required during a Restricted Burning Period.

To obtain a Permit, please contact a Permit Issuing Officer (Murray Thomas on 0428 281 157), or if unavailable, the Shire’s Chief Executive Officer. Notice shall be no less than four days prior to the proposed burn and no more than 28 days.

To request a permit you will be required to advise:

• the size of your burn
• what you are burning
• the address/location of the burn
• the name and contact number of the Permit holder
• actions proposed to mitigate the risk of the fire spreading

You must notify any adjoining landowners 24 hours in advance of your intention to burn.

Permit holders must comply with any conditions outlined on the Permit and should note that the approval is subject to revocation or
suspension where the fire, if lit, may be considered a risk to safety.

You MUST have a copy of your permit when conducting the burn.
