The Shire of Mingenew has received an application from Cooperative Bulk Handling (CBH) to develop workforce accommodation upon 18 (Lot 802) Nelson Pearse Street, Mingenew.
The development includes the following aspects:
- demolition of the existing structures upon Lot 802;
- siting of 6 x 4 single person (with ensuite) accommodation buildings (i.e. total 24 person total accommodation);
- siting of amenities buildings including kitchen/dining building, laundry building and common room building;
- covered areas, verandahs and outdoor seating areas;
- off-street car parking area containing 27 car parking bays;
- associated walkways, wastewater treatment and stormwater improvements;
- perimeter chainlink mesh fence and internal colorbond fence;
- 2 vehicle access points onto Nelson Pearse Street.
‘Workforce Accommodation’ is listed as a land use that must be advertised for comment in the ‘Rural Townsite’ zone and the Shire is inviting comment upon this application prior to this matter being presented to a meeting of Council for its consideration.

The application will then be presented to the 19 November 2025 meeting of Council for determination. The Council meeting will be held in the Council Chambers, 21 Victoria Street, Mingenew commencing at 5:00pm and is open to the public should you wish to attend.
