MWDC Digital Economy Strategy
23 July 2025

The Mid West Development Commission is developing a Mid West Digital Economy Strategy. We want to understand how our region’s digital capabilities are being used, and identify opportunities to use digital technologies to drive greater economic and community development.

A digital economy refers to all economic activity reliant on or enhanced by the use of digital inputs including technologies, digital infrastructure, services and data.  A strong digital economy is supported by three key components:

  •  Digital Infrastructure
  •  Digital Capabilities
  •  Digital Services and Platforms

To support the development of the Strategy we are inviting stakeholders to contribute their experiences and perspectives through a range of engagement mechanisms.  The phased engagement approach will occur from 24 July- 5 September 2025 and you may be contacted or invited to participate via:

  •  Phone survey as a resident or business owner
  •  Web survey
  •  Targeted workshop in-person or online

This Strategy aims to build on the strengths and opportunities of the region and we appreciate your time and contribution to its development.
